Latticed Crystals and Wine nail art

Hey y'all!

Last week I showed you a distressed floral glitter nail art where I used OPI Thank Glogg It's Friday! in a distressed technique and I lamented that I needed to swatch it.  Rather than just do straight swatches on my lil shorties, I've decided to do you one better - I've done another nail art using it as a full nail lacquer, and added another new pretty that I just picked up and wanted to show you.  Unable to think of a name for this design, I opted to take inspiration from the polish names, so we have my lattice-work crystals and wine nail art.

This gorgeous look uses only two polishes - a rich, slightly frosty wine, and a slightly rose-tinted glitter topper.

L-R: OPI Thank Glogg It's Friday!, Barry M Rose Quartz Glitter

While Glogg is part of OPI's Fall Nordic collection, I recently picked up this new Barry M glitter along with its sister (to be featured later), having heard nothing about the release beforehand.  I love the rose tint and the holo sparkles.  In fact, it's so holo and so sparkly that my camera had some trouble capturing it.

To create this look, I applied two coats of Glogg on my thumb, index, and pinky, and two coats of Rose Quartz on my middle and ring fingers (went commando - no undies!).

I thought it would look kind of cool in a stained glass setting, but I didn't want to risk freehanding it, and I don't have a stained glass stamp, so I opted for this lattice-work image from Cici & Sisi.  Although I wouldn't call Glogg a stamping polish by any stretch, I like that it is definitely noticeable, but still slightly transparent so you can see the sparkle coming from underneath.  I added the iridescent teardrop rhinestones to pull it together - though I wish I'd had smaller ones in that shape.  Oh well.

Of course, as often happens, I wondered what those polishes would look like under matte top coat, so I added a coat of Barry M's matte topper over everything, as well.

I LOVE matted glitter!  I also love how Glogg gets this really frosty satin look when it's matted out - so luxurious!

So let me know - do you prefer traditional swatches, or do you like it mixed up with a bit of nail art?  Sound off own below and let me know!

Hope you're all off to a fantastic week, and I'll see ya tomorrow!
