Brazilian Outlined Textured Nail Art - TPTC

Hey y'all!

Today I have another Tri-Polish Tuesday look for you, inspired by a new collection I picked up recently at Asda with a Brazilian theme.  I also wanted to dabble a bit with a new (to me) technique, so I came up with these tri-color outlined textured nails.

As I mentioned earlier, this design came about after a mini-haul from Asda one afternoon, where I stumbled across this Brazilian-themed collection of Gel Pro formulas by George.  Pretty much every nail polish manufacturer has been attempting to perfect a gel-like nail lacquer that has great texture, shine, and durability without an expensive trip to the salon or needing to faff with a UV or LED light to cure.  I will have to do a more formal review once I've actually played with these a bit more, but I thought the colors were gorgeous (note: I also picked up a banana yellow shade) and at a £3 price point, it wouldn't hurt to try them out.

I knew I wanted to play with these three colors in an outline, and I thought that it might be interesting to do it over a textured nail, so I grabbed the Sugar Coat to get some dimension without a mess of glitter in the formula.  Bonus: the white base only served to make those bright colors pop even brighter!

Building a good opacity with the Sugar Fix actually took 3 coats.  That isn't too bad for a white polish, but it was definitely inconvenient in terms of time.  Also, it's embarrassing how much this polish resembles stucco/popcorn ceiling on the nails.

Mentally, I divided the nail into thirds: free edge, right, and left sides.  Using a tiny detail brush and working one color at a time, I carefully outlined my nails in those sections.  The pattern actually rotates clockwise from thumb to pinky.  This was possibly more difficult than the outlining itself, because my tiny brain can only handle so much.

I opted not to topcoat because of course that would ruin my beautiful popcorn ceiling effect.  Surprisingly cleanup was not as bad as I'd anticipated, but I tried to clean up while the polish was still wet so that may have been my saving grace there.

I kinda dig this bright, if not terribly sophisticated, look.  Let me know what you think down in the comments below, and be sure to check out the other TPTC looks in the inlinkz.
